Criminal and OVI|DUI Defense Attorney in Delaware County Common Pleas Court

All adult felonies committed in Delaware County are assigned in the Common Pleas Court after an indictment or information is filed. Before indictment, an adult felony may be in the Municipal Court briefly for a bond hearing. Criminal cases are heard on the 5th floor of the Delaware County Common Pleas courthouse.

A case in the Delaware County Common Pleas Court begins with a first court date, called an arraignment. Depending on the charge, a Defendant will either receive a summons to court or be arrested and transported to court by the county. At this first court date, the Defendant enters a "guilty" or "not guilty" plea.

Cases are overseen by Judges David Gormley and James Schuck.

Mr. Shroy was recommended to me as a first rate criminal defense attorney with extensive experience and a history of consistently excellent results -earning him the respect of his colleagues and of the Court, itself. These expectations were met, to say the least. The outcome of my proceedings was as good as is realistically possible, his client counseling skills left no questions unanswered, and the rate was exceptionally fair.
