Criminal and OVI|DUI Defense Attorney in Licking County Municipal Court

The Licking County Municipal Court hears the majority of misdemeanor criminal charges in Licking County.

Smaller jurisdictions, including municipalities with a Mayor's Court, may chose not to send misdemeanor cases to the Municipal Court and instead keep the cases to be handled by their own court. You have the right to request a transfer of your case to the Municipal Court.

A case heard in the Licking County Municipal Court begins with a first court date which is noted on your ticket or citation. At this first court date a Defendant enters a "guilty," "not guilty," or "no contest" plea, or requests a continuance if they wish to get more time to retain an attorney.

Cases are overseen by Judges Michael Higgins and David Stansbury.

Cases in the Licking County Municipal Court from drug possession to OVI are charges that Columbus Criminal Defense Attorney Brandon Shroy has successfully defended for years. Put his expertise to work for you.
